Full Event Schedule:

Kids Parade Event Information
Decorate your children’s bikes, scooters or wagons with patriotic pride and come walk in the parade to watch their bright smiles.
The Kids Parade will begin at Kowalski’s Market on Water St at 11:00am. The parade runs down Water St, turns onto Lake St. and ends at the Excelsior Commons. There will be popsicles, music and a petting zoo at the finish line!
Show your Sand Artistry in the Sand Sculpture Contest
Have you spent hours out on the beach letting your imagination soar with sand? Then you should participate in our fun sand sculpture contest! Come to the small Excelsior Beach a little before 9:00am and the Noon Rotary will get you set up with everything you need!
Wayzata Independence Day Events
Flying Pancake Breakfast
Start your Fourth of July off with a patriotic breakfast! Bring your family and friends to the 10th annual Revolutionary “Flying Pancake” Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at the Depot Park. Join this festive celebration for all ages as guests try to catch pancakes tossed from the griddle and watch revolutionary soldiers perform. At 10 a.m., Mayor Ken Willcox will emcee a short program to honor veterans. $6/person and USA Veterans eat free. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, coffee, cold drink and a free flag.

Broadway Kiddie Parade
The 58th annual Broadway Kiddie Parade will take place at 10 a.m. on the corner of Park Street and Broadway Avenue. Every year the Kiddie Parade kicks off with the Wayzata Fire Department driving the “Grandmother of the Year” in the WFD’s vintage fire truck, the “Wilcox” (no relation to the Mayor). Free balloons, lemonade, popsicles, and face painting will be available. Kids need to be accompanied by parent or guardian in order to participate. Please do not bring any battery operated or motorized vehicles to the event.

44th Annual Mini Olympics
The Wayzata Fire Department will once again sponsor the 46th annual Mini Olympics for kids at the Wayzata West Middle School football field at 12:30 p.m. The events for youth ages 5-12 include a softball throw, running races and the running broad jump. Events for children four and under include running races and penny hunting.

4th of July Boat Parade
The parade will be held on the west side of Wayzata Bay, starting north of Spirit Island.
The parade will be led by the Wayzata Fire Department’s Fire Boat and is organized by the Parks & Trails Board.
The parade route will proceed north along the west shoreline of the bay, pass in front of the Wayzata Beach and Depot and conclude at the Broadway docks.

The Landing — Independence Day 1889
Celebrate America’s birthday. Join a parade, play yard games and churn ice cream. Watch historic baseball and listen to a brass band. Meet raptors from Richardson Nature Center. Enter through the west entrance. Drop-in anytime; last entry at 4 PM.
Time: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Fees:$8 ages 18-64
$5 ages 2-17 and 65+
Children under 2 free.
Children 17 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
